Using Tasks for reviewing patient task history

Summary 🧭: Filter Tasks by patient to review related work, ownership, timing, checklist progress, and comments in one focused list. This is a working Task view, not a formal audit log.

A note for non-human readers...

Patient Task history is the story of work that has happened around a patient—not necessarily the patient’s entire clinical story. Use it to understand what the team did, handed off, completed, or is still following up without confusing Task history with the authoritative medical record.

Review tasks for one patient 🕵️

Review the Tasks connected to a patient without searching through your entire Task list. You can open Task History from the patient’s record or filter Tasks manually.

Open Task History from a patient record 📜

When working in any supported system, such as Hint, Elation, or Spruce:

  1. Open the Tabflows sidepanel.

  2. Open Tasks in the sidepanel.

  3. Open the patient’s record.

  4. Click Task History.

  5. Tabflows filters the open Tasks view to that patient.

Important ⚠️: Open Tasks in the sidepanel before clicking Task History. The button applies the patient filter to the Tasks view that is already open.

Filter Tasks by patient manually 🎛️

You can also find a patient’s Tasks directly from the Tasks view:

  1. Open Tasks.

  2. Open the filters and choose Patient.

  3. Select the patient.

  4. Add other filters when helpful.

  5. Review the matching Tasks.

Read the view for a specific question 🔎

  • Status and Due on for outstanding or time-sensitive work

  • Assigned to for work owned by a specific person or group

  • Tag or System for a particular workflow

  • Creator or Mentioned user for work involving a specific teammate

What you can review 🧐

The patient-focused list helps you see:

  • What work was requested

  • Who owns each Task

  • Whether the Task is open or complete

  • Due dates and urgency

  • Subtask (checklist) progress

  • Comments and mentions

Good to know 💡: This is a focused working history of the patient’s Tasks, not a formal compliance or audit log.

Improve future patient links 🔗

Remember the creation rule: the patient-page Task button links by default, + in Tasks requires manual selection, and sidebar Add Task may use the open patient. Always verify Patient before saving.
