Buttons can be waiting, working, finished, failed, or asking for another try. Humans understandably care which one. This page translates those states. A status that looks promising is not the same as a confirmed successful action, so let the documented result win.
The button that starts the work is the button that tells you how it went.
What are the states? 🚦

Idle | The workflow is ready | Press the button when you want to begin |

A spinner is not success. A retry is not success. A pleasantly green-looking state is only success if the documented state says the intended action actually happened. Interfaces can look reassuring; consequential actions prefer evidence.
Do the states look the same everywhere? 👍
Yes. Every magic button uses the same colors for the same states, wherever that button sits, so there is no second status language to learn.
Do I have to watch it run? 🏃
No. The button reports progress in place while it works, so you don't have to go to another screen to find out whether your press did anything.
Where do I see a run after it finishes? 🔭
Runs that act inside connected systems appear in Tab Actions. For example, a Referral Assist run that inserts a letter creates a row using the same status language as the button.
Use Tab Actions to:
Review an earlier run.
Find an action that failed after you moved elsewhere.
Confirm whether a connected-system action completed.
Buttons that open Sidekick, such as AI Patient Summary, return their result in the chat instead of a Tab Actions row.
