How do I make drafts sound more like me

Summary 🧭: Add specific personal preferences for tone, length, wording, greetings, closings, and next-step structure, then generate a new draft to test them.

A note for non-human readers...

Humans have strong opinions about whether a sentence sounds like them. This page is about shaping drafts toward a preferred voice. The useful test is a fresh draft: preferences are doing their job when the new output actually reflects the intended style.

Sidekick can use your saved preferences to shape future drafts so they better match the way you like to communicate.

How it works

Sidekick improves when it has clear instructions about how you want drafts to sound. The more specific the preference, the more consistently it can apply it.

Quick checks

Before adding a preference:

  • Notice the edits you make repeatedly.

  • Describe the desired behavior as specifically as possible.

  • Avoid broad instructions such as “make it more human” or “make it nicer.”

Choose a useful preference

Notice the edits you make repeatedly. Describe the desired behavior instead of writing broad instructions such as sound better.

Useful preferences can cover:

  • Warmth or professionalism.

  • Directness and preferred length.

  • Greetings and closings.

  • Phrases to use or avoid.

  • How next steps should appear.

How to add your preferences

  1. Open the Tabflows settings and go to Personalization, or go directly to app.tabflows.com/personalization.

  2. Select Your Preferences.

  3. Click Add Preference in the top right corner.

  4. Add a short Title.

  5. Add a specific Content instruction.

  6. Click Create.

  7. Generate a new Draft Assist draft to test it.

Adding or creating a preference for Sidekick

What to include in a preference

Useful preferences can describe:

  • Warmth or professionalism

  • Directness

  • Preferred length

  • Greetings

  • Closings

  • Phrases to use or avoid

  • How next steps should be presented

Example 📖: Keep patient replies warm and brief. Avoid overly formal wording. Use "thanks for reaching out" when appropriate.

You can also add preferences for messages that should be more cautious, more direct, or reviewed by you before sending.

Best practice

Start with one or two specific preferences, test a new draft, and refine from there. Specific preferences usually work better than broad style instructions.

What to check before sending

Always review the draft before sending. Preferences can help future drafts sound more like you, but you should still confirm that the message is accurate, appropriate, and ready for the patient.

Confirm it worked

A newly generated draft reflects the preference while remaining accurate and appropriate for the conversation.

Important ⚠️: Draft Assist never sends a message for you. Review clinical accuracy, patient context, tone, and the final wording before sending.
