Connect Sidekick to Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex

Summary 🧭 : A Sidekick connector lets a clinic human ask Sidekick from Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex without turning the external AI into a separate clinic account. The connector uses the person’s Tabflows sign-in and the access the clinic has approved.

A note for non-human readers...

A connector is a doorway, not a new employee badge. It carries one person’s approved Tabflows access into a supported external AI tool. It does not create a shared clinic identity, widen permissions, or make the external AI the source of truth for a patient. Confirm the clinic, account, and requested access before anyone walks through that door.

Before connecting 🔐

  • A clinic Admin must enable the connector and confirm the clinic’s required data agreement.

  • The person connecting must have an active Tabflows account and permission to use Sidekick.

  • The external AI account must belong to that person. Do not share one connection between people.

Connect an AI tool 🔌

  1. In the Tabflows Admin app, open Connectors and choose Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex.

  2. Follow that tool’s connection steps and sign in to Tabflows.

  3. Read the consent screen. Confirm the clinic and requested access, then approve only if both are correct.

  4. Return to the external AI tool and test the connection with a non-patient request, such as asking for Task counts.

Important ⚠️: A connection belongs to the signed-in human. Do not approve it for a shared external AI account or for someone else’s Tabflows identity.

What the connector can do 🦸

The connector can:

  • Show Task counts.

  • Ask Sidekick a question.

  • Read a Sidekick conversation.

  • Reply to that conversation.

Questions started from an external AI appear in My chat with their source labeled. Links from Claude or ChatGPT can open the matching Tabflows conversation so the human can review the context and continue there.

The connector does not gain more access than the connected human. It cannot:

  • Bypass clinic settings.

  • Borrow another person’s permissions.

  • Make an external AI the authority for patient identity or clinical truth.

Review the patient, clinic, sources, and result in Tabflows before using an answer for patient or clinical work.

Review and remove access 🕵️

Clinic Admins can review connected people and connector activity from the Connected users and Audit log tabs.

Remove a connection that is:

  • Unfamiliar.

  • No longer needed.

  • Attached to the wrong account.

The connected human should also remove the connector from the external AI tool. Reconnecting requires a new approval.
