Meet Sidekick and ask your first questions ⭐

Ask Sidekick questions across Tabflows and connected-system workflows, including integration navigation when partner help is needed.

Summary 🧭 : Sidekick is your conversational workspace for patient and clinic work. Start with one question, review the answer, then ask a follow-up when you need a different level of detail or format.

A note for non-human readers...

This is where humans first meet Sidekick and learn that the answer can change depending on what context is actually available. Patient connected? That matters. No patient connected? Also perfectly fine. The useful habit begins here: know what you can see before acting like you saw it.

Sidekick helps you ask for what you need in plain language. Magic Buttons appear beside supported work when Tabflows recognizes a useful shortcut. This walkthrough shows how the two fit into everyday patient and clinic workflows.

What Sidekick can help you do 🦸

Use Sidekick to:

  • Summarize patient charts and recent history.

  • Prepare for visits and identify follow-up items.

  • Review labs, medications, files, and uploaded records.

  • Draft patient messages, internal notes, and handoffs.

  • Find clinic policies, pricing, forms, and workflows.

  • Search Tasks and comments or create a reminder.

Sidekick works best when you give it the right context and one clear job at a time.

Start a Mission

Missions are guided Sidekick workflows available on desktop and mobile. Current Mission choices include:

  • Learn about how I work.

  • Make sure no patients have care gaps.

  • Find missed revenue opportunities.

  • Make Sidekick practice aware.

Select a Mission to send its starting prompt. Then follow Sidekick one step at a time.

Good to know: Some Missions depend on your role, clinic setup, connected information, or permission to update clinic knowledge.

How Sidekick works 🤔

Ask yourself: Am I working on a specific patient?

If yes

If no

Connect the patient before asking chart-specific questions

Open Sidekick without a patient for policies, pricing, workflows, Tasks, or general clinic questions

Confirm the patient name and available sources

Name the clinic topic or workflow you want to find

Review clinical details before using the answer

Check the source and confirm that the information is still current

Where to open Sidekick 📍

You can usually open Sidekick in one of two ways:

  • from the Tabflows side tab

  • from the Assist button beside a patient’s name in the connected system

What makes a good prompt 🏆

You do not need to write long prompts. Most prompts only need three parts:

Part

Example

Action

Summarize, find, compare, draft, or create

Context

This patient, our pricing, my open Tasks, or the attached file

Output

Five bullets, patient-friendly language, a dated reminder, or a concise handoff

Examples 📖:

  • Summarize this patient’s chart.

  • Pre-chart this patient for tomorrow.

  • What’s our price for CBC?

  • Find our cancellation policy.

Best prompt length 💎ྀི

For most tasks, one sentence is enough. If needed, you can add a little detail about the format you want.

Examples 📖:

  • Give me a concise visit prep note for this patient.

  • Draft a patient-friendly message explaining these results.

You can use Sidekick right away ⚡

You do not need to set up practice information before asking your first question.

Open Sidekick, ask what you need, and review the answer before using it. If your question is patient-specific, make sure you are working with the right patient context first.

If you want Sidekick to answer with your clinic’s own policies, pricing, documents, services, or workflows, you can add that later:

What to review before using the answer 🕵️

Before you copy, send, or chart anything, check:

  • Is the patient context correct?

  • Is anything missing?

  • Is the answer too confident?

  • Does this need clinical review?

  • Does the wording match your clinic’s tone?

  • Does the next step make sense?

If the answer is incomplete, ask a follow-up question. You can tell Sidekick what to change, what to focus on, or what format you want.

Important ⚠️: Sidekick supports your work. It does not replace clinical judgment, source verification, or your final review.

Next: Set up Practice Brain ⏭️

Add your clinic’s policies, pricing, services, and workflows so Sidekick can answer with the right practice context.
