Summary 🧭: When a Spruce message reads as a scheduling request, a "Schedule" button appears beside it — press it and Sidekick opens with that patient's request already loaded, and you direct it from there.

Scheduling requests look simple until humans introduce calendars, availability, preferences, and “actually, can we do Thursday instead?” This page explains the Schedule button’s part in that workflow. A drafted or launched action is not the same as a confirmed appointment unless the resulting state says so.
The message is in Spruce, the openings are in Elation, and you are the part in the middle carrying a date between two tabs.
When does it appear 🎯
Tabflows classifies incoming Spruce messages. When a message is recognized as a scheduling request:
The message receives a Scheduling tag.
A Schedule button appears beside it.
A message that does not match the scheduling trigger does not receive the button. Hide smart buttons does not affect Schedule.
Where will you see it 📍
Floating beside the Spruce message itself. You don't install it; Tabflows presents it next to the message that needs it.
What happens when you press it ⚡
Open the Spruce message with the Scheduling tag.
Select Schedule.
Sidekick opens with the patient’s request loaded.
Ask Sidekick to review providers and open slots in the Elation calendar.
Choose the appropriate next step.
Confirm before Sidekick creates or updates a calendar event.
Send the patient reply yourself.
What won't it do on its own 🛡️
Nothing is booked, and nothing is replied to automatically. Sidekick doesn't put an event on the calendar until you tell it to and confirm. The button puts the request, the patient, and the calendar in one place; the reply to the patient is still yours to send.
I don't see the button 🤔
Usually that means the message wasn't classified as a scheduling request — the context didn't match, not a bug. This button is not affected by the "Hide smart buttons" setting.
