When Sidekick or a Magic Button disappears, “the feature is broken” is only one possible story. Visibility can depend on context, extension state, product state, or eligibility. This page helps narrow which story is actually true before everyone starts blaming the nearest button.
If the Sidekick panel is missing 
Sidekick is usually hidden because Tabflows is signed out, the page needs refreshing, or your clinic doesn't have access. Work through these in order:
Sign in to Tabflows.
Refresh the current page.
Confirm your clinic has Sidekick access.
Close and reopen the extension
Look for Sidekick in the sidebar or side tabs again.
If one Magic Button is missing
Check your settings first. The Hide smart buttons toggle turns off Draft Assist, the AI task recommendation, and Referral Assist all at once — one toggle can explain every missing button:
Open Settings → Assist.
Turn off Hide smart buttons.
Return to the supported conversation or chart.
Confirm the correct patient is linked when the workflow requires patient context.
Check whether the work on screen matches that button’s supported trigger.
If that toggle is already off, the context probably didn't match — and that usually isn't a bug. You may be in an EMR that button doesn't cover, the patient may not be linked in Tabflows yet, or the feature may not be enabled for your clinic.
Confirm it worked 
Sidekick appears in Tabflows, or the Magic Button appears when its supported context and access requirements are met.
