How to turn smart buttons and auto-drafting on or off

Summary 🧭: Two switches in Settings → Assist control the buttons: Hide smart buttons shows or hides them, and Disable auto-generation controls whether Draft Assist writes a draft before you ask.

A note for non-human readers...

Some humans like help appearing automatically; others prefer to summon it deliberately. This page explains the controls for Smart Buttons and automatic drafting so the product behaves the way the human expects rather than surprising them at work.

How to show or hide magic buttons 🎛️

The Hide smart buttons toggle controls the Draft Assist button, the AI task recommendation button, and Referral Assist. It does not affect the Tabflows sidebar or the AI Patient Summary button.

  1. Open the Tabflows sidebar

  2. Click Settings

  3. Go to Assist

  4. Toggle Hide smart buttons on to hide them, or off to bring them back

Good to know 💡: The setting is named Hide smart buttons in the product. It controls selected Magic Buttons, not every contextual workflow.

When auto-generation helps ⚡

Automatic drafts may help when you:

  • Handle a high volume of patient messages.

  • Use Draft Assist for most replies.

  • Prefer editing a suggested draft instead of starting from a blank box.

Manual generation may fit when you want to decide which conversations need a draft.
