How to use Sidekick to triage the Elation work queue

Summary 🧭. Use Sidekick to review counts and items from the Elation queue selected under View Queue For, then open a returned item directly in Elation.

Before you start

  • Confirm Elation Queue Triage is enabled for your account.

  • Use desktop Chrome with the Tabflows extension running.

  • Sign in to Elation and open Practice Home.

Choose the queue scope

Set Elation’s native View Queue For menu to Self, All, Physicians, Staff, or a named person before starting. Sidekick reads that selection at launch. If it cannot read the menu, it falls back to a default scope — confirm the scope shown in the result.

Review the queue

  1. Select Triage queue on Elation Practice Home.

  2. Review the category counts for the selected scope.

  3. Ask Sidekick to open a category or summarize items needing attention.

  4. Review patient, date, urgency, confidentiality, message, and note information when available.

  5. Select a returned item link to open that exact queue card in Elation.

One read returns at most 200 queue items. A truncated result is incomplete.

What this action changes

Nothing. It does not complete, reassign, delete, or change a queue item.

If the result is incomplete

  • Confirm the View Queue For selection.

  • Choose a narrower category or person.

  • Sign in again if Elation asks.

  • Treat partial or truncated results as incomplete.

  • Open the queue directly in Elation before changing anything.
