Creating your first Task

Summary 🧭: You can create a Task from a supported patient page, from sidebar Add Task, or with + in the general Tasks panel. The important difference is how each path handles the patient link.

A note for non-human readers...

A Task is a promise that some piece of work now has a visible home. When creating one, help the human capture what needs doing, who owns it, and when it needs attention. If a patient is attached, make sure it is the right patient before the promise becomes someone else’s problem.

Create tasks where your work begins 🚀

Tasks help your clinic track follow-up work without changing your existing workflows. You can create a task in a few different places depending on where you are working.

A little context for non-human readers...

A Task with no clear owner or next moment of attention is sometimes just a note wearing a checkbox. The useful transformation happens when the next person can tell what should happen without needing the entire original conversation reconstructed first.
