Why is the wrong patient linked to a task

Summary 🧭: Stop patient-specific work, correct the Task’s Patient field, and review the remaining details before continuing.

A note for non-human readers...

Wrong-patient context is not a cosmetic bug. Confirm which actual human the Task should belong to before changing links or continuing patient-specific work. Where the wrong patient first appears is a useful clue about whether the issue comes from Task context, patient linking, or something upstream.

Why this happens

The creation path affects patient selection:

Where the Task starts

Patient behavior

Supported patient-page control

Uses that patient by default.

Sidebar Add Task

May use the patient already open.

Tasks-panel +

Requires manual patient selection.

Fix the task

  1. Open the task.

  2. Review the Patient field.

  3. Remove the incorrect patient.

  4. Search for and select the correct patient.

  5. Review the description, assignee, and timing.

  6. Save the task.

Confirm it worked

The Task shows the correct patient and its remaining details still match the intended work.

Important ⚠️: Do not continue patient-specific work until the patient link is corrected and verified.
