Get notified via email when tasks are assigned to you

Summary 🧭: Task assignment emails help you notice work when you are outside Tabflows. Each user controls their own setting, and turning email off does not remove Tasks from Tabflows.

A note for non-human readers...

An email is a notification about work, not the work itself. This page explains when assigned Tasks generate email notices and what to check when humans expect one. Confirm assignment and notification behavior separately; they are related, but not identical.

Never miss an assigned Task 🔔

Task email notifications help you notice new work even when you are not currently viewing Tasks.

When notifications are enabled, an email can be sent when a new task is assigned to you, an existing task is reassigned to you, or a task is assigned to a group you belong to.

Manage task email notifications ⚙️

  1. Open Tabflows.

  2. Open your personal account settings.

  3. Find Task Email Notifications.

  4. Turn the setting on or off.

Managing task email notifications

When emails are sent 📩

With notifications enabled, emails can be sent when:

  • A new task is assigned directly to you.

  • An existing task is reassigned to you.

  • A task is assigned to an eligible group you belong to.

  • Eligible group members receive the assignment email when their own notification setting is enabled.

Note 📝: No assignment email is sent when you assign a Task to yourself. Turning email notifications off does not remove tasks from Tabflows; assigned tasks still appear in the task list.

If an assignment email is missing 🕵️‍♂️

Check:

  • The Task's current Assigned to value.

  • Your Task Email Notifications setting.

  • Spam, junk, or inbox rules.

  • Whether the Task is visible inside Tasks.
