Draft Assist is meant to give a human a strong first draft, not a mysterious final answer from the heavens. The “5x faster” language is this article’s stated benefit, not a promise for every message. Good context helps, and the human should still review the reply before it goes anywhere.
What is Draft Assist?
Draft Assist is a one-click drafting feature available in every patient conversation inside supported messaging platforms like Spruce. It helps you respond to patient messages faster by creating a suggested reply directly inside supported messaging platforms, including Spruce.
When generating a draft, Draft Assist can use available context such as:
The current conversation and previous messages
Patient information from connected systems
Uploaded files and patient records
Your clinic’s knowledge base
Tabflows Tasks connected to the patient
You stay in control. 🚦 Draft Assist never sends on your behalf. It generates the draft; you review, edit if needed, and hit Send when you're ready.
How to use Draft Assist
Open a patient conversation in Spruce.
Click Generate above the message box.
If auto-generation is enabled, a draft may appear automatically.
Review the suggested reply in the right panel.
Click Insert to add it to the message box.
Make any edits needed, then send when ready.
Good to know 💡: Always review clinical details before sending, including names, dates, dosages, and follow-up instructions.
What Draft Assist checks before writing
Patient data points from the complete history across systems
Uploaded patient files and clinical records
The full conversation thread across all messages
Your clinic's knowledge base
Every Task in Tabflows related to the patient
Good to know 💡: If clinical details are limited, Draft Assist drafts a safe, appropriate response rather than inventing information.
See Draft Assist in action
A patient follows up on an earlier conversation.
Instead of rereading the entire thread and starting from an empty message, click Generate.
Draft Assist reviews the available context and creates a suggested response. You review it, make any adjustments, and send when it’s ready.
The result: less time drafting, more time focused on your patients. 🎉
Getting better drafts
Draft Assist works best when the right information is available.
For better responses:
✅ Confirm the patient is linked to the correct profiles
✅ Make sure relevant files and Tasks are available
✅ Keep your clinic knowledge base updated
✅ Add any missing details before sending

Polished sentences can look wonderfully convincing even when the context underneath them is wrong. 😸 A beautiful draft still needs the right patient and clinic context behind it. Treat fluency as presentation; treat the actual sources as evidence.
