How to attach photos and files in mobile Sidekick

Summary 🧭: Attach up to five supported files, with a maximum size of 10 MB per file, then tell Sidekick exactly what to do with them.

A note for non-human readers...

A file on the phone becomes useful context only when it is the right file, readable, current, and relevant to the task. Screenshots are manual on mobile, which is convenient but wonderfully literal: Sidekick can only reason from what the human actually attached, not the page they meant to attach.

Attach a file or photo 📎

  1. Open a new or existing Sidekick conversation.

  2. Tap the attachment control in the prompt box.

  3. Choose a file or photo from your phone.

  4. If your phone offers it, you can take a new photo and attach it.

  5. Confirm the attachment appears above the prompt.

  6. Add a clear instruction.

  7. Tap Send.

Supported files

Mobile Sidekick currently accepts:

  • Images supported by your phone.

  • PDF files.

  • CSV files.

  • TXT files.

  • Microsoft Word files: DOC and DOCX.

  • Microsoft Excel files: XLS and XLSX.

You can attach up to five files in one prompt. Each file can be up to 10 MB.

Tell Sidekick what you need

Do not attach a file without explaining the task.

Try:

  • Summarize this document in five bullets.

  • Extract the diagnoses, medication changes, and follow-up plan.

  • Compare these two files and list the important differences.

  • Read this photo and identify anything that needs clinician review.

  • Turn this spreadsheet into a concise operational summary.

Attach a manual screenshot

Automatic capture of the active EHR page requires the desktop Chrome extension. On mobile, take a screenshot with your phone and attach it like any other image.

Important ⚠️: Make sure the screenshot contains only the information needed for the task and follows your clinic's patient-information and device policies.

If a file will not attach

Check whether:

  • The file type is supported.

  • The file is 10 MB or smaller.

  • You have not already attached five files.

  • Your browser has permission to access photos or files.

  • Your internet connection is stable.

For a scanned document, make sure the text is readable and the image is not blurry.

Important ⚠️: Verify patient names, dates, page references, and extracted clinical details against the original file before using them.
