AI Recommended turn conversation context into a possible next action for clinic staff. Treat the recommendation as a starting point, not a confirmed instruction. The human still verifies the patient, description, owner, timing, urgency, tags, and any similar open work before creating the Task.
Quick checks ⚡
Before you begin:
Use desktop Chrome with the Tabflows extension active.
Open the correct patient conversation in Spruce.
Confirm the Spruce patient is linked to the correct patient in Tabflows.
Make sure Hide smart buttons is turned off under Settings → Assist.
Review existing open work when the conversation may already have a follow-up Task.
Create a recommended Task 🚀
AI Recommended tasks use the available conversation and patient context to suggest one useful internal clinic action.
Open the linked patient conversation in Spruce.
Confirm that the patient shown in Tabflows matches the conversation.
Select the lightbulb beside the Draft Assist controls.
Wait for the AI Recommended tasks panel to finish drafting one recommendation.
Review the patient, description, assigned person or group, due date, tag, and urgency.
If a Similar open task appears, compare the recommendation with the existing work before continuing.
Select Save task when every detail is correct, or select Edit details when something needs to change.
When you save directly, the recommendation changes to Saved ✓ after the Task is created.
Important ⚠️: Selecting Save task creates the Task immediately. There is no second approval step.
Check for a similar open Task
A recommendation may show Similar open task followed by the title of existing work for the same patient.
This warning helps you notice a possible duplicate before creating another Task. It does not merge the recommendation into the existing Task, update the existing Task, or block you from saving.
If the recommended action is genuinely separate, review the details and save it as a new Task.
Important ⚠️: Saving the task still creates a new Task when a similar open Task is shown.
Edit the recommendation
Select Edit details to open the full Task form.
You can review or change Description, Patient, Assigned person or group, Due date, Urgency, and Tags.
Select Save task when the revised Task is ready. Select Discard to close the editor without creating it.
Refine the Task or ask for another idea
Use the field labeled Add directions for more specific tasks... when you want more control. To revise the current suggestion, clearly refer to it in your direction.
Example 📖: "Make this task non-urgent, assign it to Billing, and set it due tomorrow."
Then select More ideas.
To get a different recommendation, leave the directions blank and select More ideas, or ask for a different kind of clinic action.
Example 📖: "Suggest a different follow-up related to scheduling."
Tabflows returns one recommendation at a time. Review each new suggestion before saving it.
If the lightbulb is missing
Confirm that you are in a supported Spruce patient conversation.
Confirm that the patient is linked in Tabflows.
Open Settings → Assist.
Turn off Hide smart buttons.
Return to the conversation and reopen the Tabflows extension.
The feature must also be available for your clinic.
