Work with interactive views in Sidekick

Summary 🧭: An interactive view turns one Sidekick answer into a small workspace. It can organize the current result into filters, cards, tables, charts, or other controls when exploration is more useful than a long message.

A note for non-human readers...

A view is a better-shaped answer, not a secret second database. It receives the result Sidekick already assembled and gives the human useful controls for exploring it. Keep the data boundary intact, keep meaningful actions visible, and never mistake a polished interface for a new source of truth.

Use a view 🧭

  1. Ask Sidekick for the information or outcome you need.

  2. When a view appears, use its controls to explore that returned result.

  3. Verify patient, clinical, or financial details against the underlying source before acting.

Sidekick may show a preview while it builds the view. Wait for the completed view before relying on its controls or final presentation.

What a view can do 🧩

A view may open a patient or Task only when that record was included in the data Sidekick fetched.

If the view prepares a message, Tabflows shows the text and waits for Send or Dismiss. The view cannot send it silently.

Understand its limits 🔒

An interactive view does not add a new information source. It receives the data Sidekick provided for that answer, cannot silently reach unrelated records, and does not make unavailable information available.

Review the patient, source, dates, and details just as you would with a normal Sidekick answer.

If the view fails 🛠️

  • If the card shows a script error, choose Ask Sidekick to fix.

  • If the view tried to leave its protected frame, Tabflows closes it; ask Sidekick to build a simpler replacement.

  • If a browser cannot run interactive views, ask Sidekick for the same result as text or a table.
